Christopher Maltman is superb, and the LSC sing with huge commitment [GPJ].

Anton BRUCKNER (1824-1896) Symphony 5 - NDR SO/Günter Wand rec. 1998 ARTHAUS MUSIK DVD 107243 [82:00] [SG] Certainly a performance I would return to — a compelling visual document of a great Brucknerian.

Anton BRUCKNER (1824-1896) Symphony 8 - Staatskapelle Dresden/Christian Thielemann rec. 2012 C MAJOR 716108 DVD [89:00] [ST] There is an inevitability about Thielemann's unfolding of this great musical structure.

Giulio CACCINI (1551 - 1618) L’Euridice Silvia Frigato, Furio Zanasi, Concerto Italiano/Rinaldo Alessandrini rec. 2013 NAIVE OP30552 [70.00] A full, expressive performance [LJ] Allowing for one or two weak spots in the cast this is a good recording of one of the first operas in history [JV].
