MusicWeb is a remarkable institution run by the remarkable and indefatigable Len Mullenger. I don't know of any other source of informed reviews which covers so much interesting repertoire from throughout the world, from labels large and small. Here's to the next fifteen years!

Simon Foster

In the 15 years that the indefatigable Len Mullenger has led his creation MusicWeb, we labels and our artists have had the great advantage to be subjected to a lot of positive criticism, made in a superlatively knowledgable way. Even when a CD is occasionally slated, it is done with taste and accuracy, not venom. It is amazing that Len has been able to cope with the workload and I can only wish him and his creation the very best of luck for the next 15 years, not that luck has very much to do with it.

Robert von Bahr, CEO of the oldest founder-led classical record company in the world - BIS.

Hearty Congratulations from the BMS to Musicweb in celebrating its 15th year during which you have achieved somuch, becoming such a highly respected site.

BMS has always appreciated the support it has received over the years and we are especially grateful to you for enabling us to be part of Musicweb's site and for establishing these links between us. This relationship was enhanced some six years ago when it became possible to also sell our CDs directly from the site. It is hoped that we can continue to have a mutually fruitful relationship with Musicweb.

Long may Musicweb prosper.

With best wishes

Raphael Terroni
Vice-Chairman BMS

Both record companies and their potential customers are in debt to a team which provides such a quality service to those who are serious about music. We hope you are here for another 15 and beyond.

Paul Sarcich

Congrats Len and Music Web International!! Delmark Records from Chicago is very appreciative of the extremely well-written reviews from Tony Augarde of Delmark's varied jazz and blues releases over the years. Keep up the great work!

Kevin Johnson

Warmest congratulations to MUSICWEB on their 15th Anniversary.
No other publication - online or print - presents such a comprehensive, in depth & overwhelmingly enthusiastic round up of reviews in the classical & film music field.
Here's to the next 15 years - all the best.

Alan Wilson Disc Imports Limited/Campion Records

Many congratulations to MusicWeb, Len Mullenger and the team of editors and reviewers for providing the best and most comprehensive online review and musical information facility. It’s a real help in making the world aware of our artists and recordings.

When new American composers approach the innova Recordings label to release their courageous, forward-looking (hearing?) works to the great unknown public, they trust us to place them in good hands and before willing ears. Musicweb International is just such a home; friendly, eager and responsive. Useful to the artists, labels, listeners, and the very stuff of creating culture. Thanks.

LAKE Records has just celebrated 25 years and whenever a significant milestone is achieved two things happen:

You wonder where the time went
You’re amazed at what you’ve managed to do in that time

In this days of instant everything and immediately disposable everything clocking up any sort of staying power is quite an achievement and certainly isn’t easy. So from LAKE Records we send you our heartiest congratulations and wish you continuing success

Paul & Linda Adams

Congratulations on Musicweb's 15th anniversary!

We would like to thank the whole team for providing a qualified and well-balanced survey of classical music. With their detailed CD and live music reviews Musicweb offers a good guideline for music lovers and poses a challenge for record labels and artists who appreciate the careful consideration of the critics. Our best wishes for the next 15 years of Musicweb!

Eva Wybierek

The service that MusicWeb International provides labels and recording artists is invaluable. The informed and thorough reviews, features and links offered on the site bring about an awareness and interest that connects the artist, the audience and the music - what could be more important? Bravo!

Robert LaPorta

On behalf of Naxos and all our affiliates and partners, I would like to congratulate MusicWeb on its 15th Anniversary. Over the years, MusicWeb has proven to be a valuable review resource covering more recordings than any other medium, whether in print or online, and we look forward to the next 15 years of MusicWeb.

Klaus Heymann
Chairman – Naxos Group

MusicWeb International is the grown up way to review records. No compromise on space so reviewers are free to expand, compare, contrast and elaborate. Multiple and linked reviews of the same disc so customers get a balanced viewpoint. Independent of advertising - the way it should be, but most important of all the reviews are processed and uploaded immediately. No longer do we have to wait six months or more to coordinate a campaign. With MusicWeb-International you know within two days if a discs is a success and with one click your customer can order it. This is the right way to review discs in the 21st century.

Antony Smith
Business Director
Nimbus Records

Dear Len and all the reviewers at Music Web International. What a fantastic and important online resource you have created for recorded and live music. Thank you for your continued support of NMC and here's to the next 15 years of reviews!

Eleanor Wilson

A very valuable service, thank you. MusicWeb International occupies a very useful middle ground between the web's 'everyone is a critic' philosophy and the battle-hardened professional music journalist. With MusicWeb we know we are getting the views of an informed enthusiast - usually complimentary, always interesting.

Jeremy Polmear

In a musical culture like ours, that tends to become incrementally more complicated, inward looking, competitive and commercial, we run the risk of losing sight of the aesthetic realities of music itself. If music be the food of love, as well as the food of the politically correct mass market, we need to search for its human and spiritual, as well as its material, source. Musicweb International provides the necessary counterpoise. Its review forum is independent, informed and immediate; free, open, unfettered and worldwide.

Francis Routh

For a man, the fifteenth birthday is a little step in the course of life. But for a web site it represents a considerable portion of time. The reasons of this achievement are due to the perseverance and enthusiasm that Len Mullenger and his staff set down in their exciting activity. 2,900 reviews each year! An incredible amount of comments, impressions, suggestions, regrets, congratulations, dealing with performances and music coming from all over the world.

When I asked Mr. Mullenger to place my new-born label's pages on his site, he gave consent gladly, although my experience in this specific professional field was actually small.

One can barely imagine how joyful I was! If my little Sheva Collection will one day emerge in the world of recorded music, I shall be absolutely indebted to Len and all the people involved in his wonderful adventure.

Bravo bravissimo Len !

Ermanno De Stefani, founder of Sheva Collection

Congratulations to all at MusicWeb International from Signum Records for 15 years of thoughtful, thorough and positive feedback!

Matt Buchanan & Sarah Thwaites

Throughout the web, many kinds of musical criticism can be found.
Enthusiastic and altogether musically illiterate is one possible configuration.

Skilled, dry and sectarian may be encountered equally easily.

But Len Mullenger and the MusicWeb team are a crew embarking talents of the utmost kind. That is, capable of an in-depth, though lively and subjective analysis, deploying an unrivalled knowledge of each repertoire and each artist's discography (may I dare to confess that I learnt quite a lot about Scelsi and his contemporaries thanks to MusicWeb!).

Above all, MusicWeb illustrates an educated freedom of speech, often infatuated, sometimes severe, but always embodying the very picture of intellectual honesty - which is just the quintessence of what Criticism should be.

Please continue in the same manner for the next 15 years!

Yvette Carbou

On your 15th anniversary, we would like to add our warmest congratulations to those of all our colleagues and sincerely thank you for long and generous reviews written by knowledgeable, well informed reviewers. MusicWeb is a truly splendid site. Long may it continue.

Siva Oke
SOMM Recordings

Little record companies suffer at the hands of the major press. We can’t afford the advertising spending required to ensure that a new release is reviewed. So what a delight to find Len Mullenger’s remarkable review site, where all comers are treated equally. Not only that, the reviews are often lengthy, written by people with a level of knowledge and enthusiasm that matches that of the people who are making the recordings. Even the negative reviews are worth reading in order to learn something. Long may you persevere, Len. At least another 15 years, OK?
