The Malcolm Arnold
Society |
What the Malcolm Arnold Society achieves:-
a) Promotes the music of Sir Malcolm Arnold.b) Issues a quarterly journal (BECKUS - named after Arnold's comedy overture) this includes news, views, reviews, analyses, archive material, CD news, concert diary and other occasional features.
c) Has links with publishing companies and broadcasting bodies, giving up-to-date information on recordings and live performances at home and abroad.
d) Runs special offers for certain CDs with some recording companies. CDs are often offered directly from the recording companies.
e) Trips and gatherings have also been organised for members. The most notable and well attended was a study day at the Barbican Centre, London; an all-Arnold concert was preceded by talks, interviews and lectures.
f) The Arnold Society also provides a source of reference for those who wish to know more about the composer and his music, both for enjoyment and academic study.
The Malcolm Arnold Society aims are:-
a) To help in the sponsorship of Arnold recordings and live performances on an amateur, and professional level.
b) To act more as a forum for members to debate and discuss facets of Arnold's music via our newsletter.
c) To continue offering members discounts on CDs, scores and block bookings at concerts.
