Not every musician plays on every track: appropriate combinations are selected for each tune.

Livia Devereux was born and raised in NYC. Although her first love was always singing, she did not turn professional until she was 24. She claims to have been influenced by many singers including Dinah Washington, Barbra Streisand, Linda Ronstadt, Judy Garland, Nancy Wilson, and Aretha Franklin. To me she is nearer to Billie Holiday than any other top-class singer and there is nothing wrong with that!

Although there is only 25 minutes of music on this CD, it is 25 minutes of excellent performance. Livia is a real jazz singer and she has an excellent group of musicians in support. The programme selection is also excellent, a most attractive mix of the familiar and unfamiliar, with very musical arrangements which fit each tune perfectly.

This is a very fine album and I wish Livia Devereux a long and prosperous career; she has all the right qualities to make that happen.

As the CD has no number, I guess you have to buy it through her website.
