All the tracks on this disc have been recently reviewed by me as part of the various recordings by William Boughton (insert links) issued during the 1980s but this compilation gathers together some of the most successful performances from those CDs. The new cover illustration, a Victorian painting of the Embankment by John O’Connor and showing a military parade, is particularly appropriate and attractive; and the notes by David Gutman are new and come with French and German translations.
