A useful compilation of romantically tuned slow movements from various keyboard
concertos but nothing else. The title track is a low voltage performance
of Isador Goodman and a rather fallible Melbourne Symphony but involving
nonetheless. On the other hand, Tamas Vasary's splendidly involved version
of Liszt's First Piano Concerto is a valuable reissue. The same pianist is
partnered by Janos Kulka in a serviceable recording of Chopin's 'Andante
Spianato e Grande Polonaise' with a wonderfully supportive BPO proving the
ace in the pack here. The compilation is completed by bleeding chunks from
Gershwin's Concerto and Rachmaninov's Second by Szidon and Richter respectively.
Serious collectors will already have the complete versions in their collections
but as a starting point for newcomers and at a really low price this Classikon
	  disc is good value nonetheless.
