There is
plenty of live DOKKEN out there, plenty from their commercial height
for that matter so of what further value is another greatest hits done
live collection?
Well, for starters the band has a new guitar player, one who does a
dame fine job of coving the material written by George Lynch but goes
far beyond that and contributes some of DOKKEN’s best new songs,
Reb Beach. Then there is the outstanding way in which this whole DVD
was put together, the multi-camera shots and interview footage. There
are bonus videos from the DOKKEN vault, which is really cool. There
is bonus artwork and other DOKKEN paraphernalia, the kind of stuff hard-core
collectors one-up each other with when they meet at DOKKEN shows and
here is a bushel of it for everybody. This is just an incredibly well
thought out and executed live representation of DOKKEN and not a bad
way to start off a new millennium either especially when most of the
guys in the band look almost as young as they did on the cover of “UNDER
LOCK AND KEY.” So, yeah, this was a warranted endeavor despite
there being so much live material already available but they should
wait a full decade and have a few more hits with this lineup before
attempting this again.
