Shit, I thought that COC would have a long life with the major labels, I
mean they just seamed to be on the cusp of hugeness. For perfectly
greedy reasons, I am glad that they have struck out to an independent
like Sanctuary because that way they, and hopefully their music, will
remain accessible to the regular Joe.
There are four songs here to wet the taste for the full album and
listening to them is the best eighteen minutes that I have spent in quite
some time. COC takes nothing off the edges but there is still a certain
refined sweetness to the whole that reminds one of several other great
Southerners particularly LYNYRD SKYNYRD and 38 SPECIAL.
If "Over Me," "Stare Too Long," "Take What You Want" and "Sleeping
Martyr" serve as a forecast of things to come we are in for some very
sunny weather indeed.
