Philip Borg-Wheeler

Philip Borg-Wheeler is a viola-player in the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. He regularly contributes to Classical Music Magazine, including book reviews, several composer-features in the old Repertoire Guide and occasional Soapbox articles. He has written CD insert notes for Hyperion, Chandos, EMI, Virgin and Avie, and over 2000 programme notes for many orchestras, festivals, etc, including the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the CBSO, Halle, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Proms Office, BBC Philharmonic, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Harrogate Festival, Winchester Festival, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Bridgewater Hall, Sheffield City Hall, Raymond Gubbay Promotions and the Barbican Centre. Also notes for recitals by Brendel, Kissin, Barbara Bonney, Kiri te Kanawa, John Lill and John Williams.
