Please help MusicWeb by donating $20 or £10
The appeal below has been on the site for a while and did not fall on deaf ears. Those whom I was able to reach by e-mail responded well. However there still remain a hard core of visitors I cannot reach who we know spend 20 minutes or more on the site each time they visit. If that is you, know that MusicWeb (which includes Film Music on the Web, Jazz, Nostalgia, Heavy Metal, Hoffnung, Seen and Heard, and many other interests) is now in your hands.... please read on....
It has always been my hope that MusicWeb would remain free to all and not have to become a subscription site. In a recent poll of visitors about half those who responded said they would be prepared to pay a reasonable subscription but the other half said they would not or could not. Many of those were overseas visitors would could not establish suitable credit card accounts or students who could not afford it.
This is a compromise. I am suggesting that those who can and wish to pay can do so on a voluntary basis. The button below will take a 'subscription' of $10 (£6.50). If you would like to help preserve this website please use this button to donate money. I think our problems are short term but it may be that I will have to come back to you once a quarter. If enough of you take up this scheme MusicWeb will not have to become for subscribers only. You will be asked for your e-mail address and I might use this to prompt you in April to make a further payment. I hope I will not need to.
