d New York, 8 April 1920, aged thirty-five

In 1899 he began studying piano with a local teacher, who financed his moving to Berlin to study at the Stern Conservatory, where he worked under Humperdinck, among others. He remained in Berlin until 1907, teaching and appearing as piano soloist and accompanist. On his return to the USA he became director of music at the Hockley School in Tarrytown, NY, holding the post till 1920, the year in which he died.
