CASELLA, Alfredo
b Turin, 25 July 1883
d Rome, 5 March 1947, aged sixty-three

He learnt piano with his mother from the age of four and entered the Paris Conservatory in 1896, studying with Fauré. After a term as professor of composition there, in 1915 he returned to Italy.
