Toccata from 5th Symphony – Widor

It is instructive to notice that of the twenty three or so pieces given, only five or six were in fact transcriptions. Most of the pieces would be perfectly at home in any recital given in the 21st century. It is curious to note that Widor’s Toccata was obviously very popular in 1928. It was not undiscovered until Francis Jackson played it at the Duchess of Kent’s Wedding in York Minster.
