STOCKHAUSEN, Karlheinz
b Cologne, 22 August 1928
He studied from 1947 to 1951 at the State Hochschule fur Musik in Cologne and then at the University of Cologne. He spent some years experimenting with electronic music, phonetics and communication, and in 1958 made his first tour of concert lectures in America and Canada. Since then he has made extended tours every year as conductor, performer and lecturer. He has held many professorial posts.
