SARASATE, Pablo de
b Pamplona, 10 March 1844
d Biarritz, 20 September 1908, aged sixty-four

The son of a military bandmaster, he played violin at the age of five and gave his first public concert when he was eight. In 1856 he was sent to Paris to study at the Conservatory. After his training he gave concert tours for the rest of his life.
