This is the text presented in a series of talks at Charlecote park in 2016 in honour of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death

Disclaimer: Before we start can I just point out that apart from Sylvia Morris and Jo Wilding, none of us are experts on Shakespeare so we will not get involved in detailed discussions of the plays. We will instead be telling you about the connection between Charlecote and Shakespeare and what books we have in the library that are pertinent.

 We do provide a different talk which is a synoptic view of the Library but that has been suspended during the Shakespeare celebrations.
