Jack Teagarden was a
monster of the jazz world in every way,
he was known as Big T, but he was a monster
of the jazz trombone and a superb jazz
vocalist. There are 46 tracks here and
on each one he demonstrates his absolute
mastery of the trombone. What’s more,
he inspires musicians I have never heard
of before to turn in world class performances.
Track 17 to 19, have him paired with Louis
Armstrong who regularly outplayed everybody
he came across, but Jack was more than
equal to the challenge and draws Armstrong’s
praise for his efforts.
Living Era should be
congratulated on this release and it should
be in every serious jazz enthusiast’s
collection. I do not intend to say more
as I have waxed eloquently on Mr T before
on previous reviews of his work, this
collection is the best yet! Buy It!
